Shift Supervisor

SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the day-to-day manufacturing operation. Responsibilities include staffing, productivity, efficiency, scrap reduction, quality, safety and continuous improvement initiatives. Also provides direction, leadership, and development. Support indirect reports. Fully supports and enforces safety, policies, procedures and company initiatives in order to meet or exceed established standards and requirements. Must be able to perform these duties independent of direct supervision.

Promote a strong safety culture and help provide oversight of safe work practices, providing a safe work environment and safety training.
Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.
Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.
Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws.
Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible and review progress.
Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.
Motivates and coaches employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed
Leads by example; regular, consistent and reliable pattern of attendance including being prompt and at work as schedule and workload dictates
Delegate and supervise work assignments to lead operators, operators, and technicians.
Review daily machine priorities and placement of operators.
Inspect all areas of the plant with the previous supervisor.
Perform scheduled evaluations of employees.
Communicate summary of daily operations to Senior Leadership.
Enforce all Company policies and procedures judiciously.
Monitor machine process and non-conformance issues daily.
Process and enter production information for all machines and work orders.
Maintain high GMP and food safety standards at all times.
Handle employee concerns.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of software and QSI software as well as other quality related and business productivity software such as Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office, Mattec, and JD.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Capable of reading, writing, and speaking English.
High School diploma preferred with a minimum of three years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
Capable of physical mobility, including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting up to 35lbs.
Capable of maintaining an attendance record within the Company guidelines and working any required overtime.
Must possess a functional knowledge of injection molding processes including, but not limited to, technical equipment, ancillary equipment, statistical process control and production scheduling.
Must become CPR and First Aid Certified.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
