The Furniture Repair Technician is responsible for varying levels of repair and restoration of furniture pieces. This position identifies the level of repair needed and determines the type of tool, equipment and parts needed to repair the piece. The pieces include items such as upholstery, casegoods, mattresses, etc. The Furniture Repair Technician repairs the piece per standard operating procedures and company standards and once the repair is complete, will disposition the piece accordingly.
Essential Functions
Identify repair needed and follow standard operating procedures to repair based upon the need.
Order replacement parts as needed.
Communicate any maintenance of tools, parts and hardware needed.
Ensure appropriate disposition of damaged product.
Contribute to improvement efforts within quality and performance measures as well as targeted levels.
Train other technicians on special and advanced repair techniques.
Demonstrate the Company's Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions.
Maintain reliable attendance.
Actively participate in departmental meetings, training and education. Assist with training other employees and providing backup.
Complete other assignments and special projects as requested.
Job Requirements
High School Education or equivalent.
1 year experience in production assembly, touch up repair, or related area, Required
Licenses or Certifications
Company-issued PIV license, or ability to obtain within 60 days
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Basic math skills
Ability to provide customer service to meet or exceed customer expectations
Thorough product line knowledge
Knowledge of hand tool usage and repair supplies
Demonstrated ability to set up and repair furniture
Self-directed, reliable and punctual
Strong attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills
Effective time management and organizational skills
Work independently as well as in a team environment
Document management system
Analytical and problem solving skills
Maintain confidentiality
Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
